So does the clothes being sold at a boutiques have to be brand named or why are they so expensive?

Boutiques usually carry designer labels of a certain style or clothes by a specific designer. So yeah they are always gonna be expensive. They typically don’t have a wide selection, just whatever is popular that season.
Sorry i don’t know anything other than that, i just watch What Not To Wear

i’m not an expert but boutiques have their own brand so they sell clothes from their own brand. its probably expensive because the brand isn’t known well because it isn’t a chain store and the style of the owner is “unique”.
i have an account on a website (aimed for young girls) that the whole point is that you run a “boutique”
you get to design clothes, advertise, make a logo, and create boutique! its fun!

An upscale boutique would stock a few pieces from various designers-you would never focus soley on one designer and change up who you carry every-so often-you would be carrying second tier designers, which are still some of the most important designers in the world, but you wouldn’t be carrying pieces from houses such as Chanel or Balenciaga. Shoes are another story-when dealing with shoes, you still won’t see labels such as Chanel, but other labels such as Christian Louboutin, Givenchy, and Valentino can co-exist in shoes.
Boutiques usually carry higher end apparel. True religion, frankie b, hudson, 7 for all mankind, and many more… And it sure beats shopping at the mall!
It depends what you want to sell and who you aim your market at. You could sell designer clothes or even normal clothes.
Where I stay, boutiques have clothes that are imported from Bangkok and China. In Bangkok you can buy 3 dresses for 15$ or less, you have to bargain and then sell each at 25$ with a huge profit, same with jeans and accessories.
Boutique would stock a couple of pieces from varied designers-you’d by no means focus soley on one designer and alter up who you carry every-so usually-you’d be carrying second tier designers, which are still some of the most essential designers on this planet, however you wouldn’t be carrying pieces from houses similar to Chanel or Balenciaga. Shoes are one other story-when dealing with sneakers, you still gained’t see labels similar to Chanel.
